And just when I start to wonder how the next dolphin encounter can possibly top the previous... They go and do this while out on the boat with and . Simply fantastic!

Great to see my favourites on Winterwatch! Bottlenose dolphins! Any excuse to post my favourite photo again! Here are two of the Cardigan Bay dolphins sharing a little kiss!

The video isn’t of the best quality, so here are a couple of photos of the goldcrest too!

I’ve been seeing plenty of goldcrests recently! This noisy little one came right within touching distance of me to come and say hello, while I was out walking along the Grand Union Canal!

Very happy to see that our little wren showed up to the big garden birdwatch party!

Plenty of birds recorded over the hour bird watch! The coal tits seemed to be enjoying the ‘all you can eat’ big garden birdwatch buffet the most! Especially the peanuts!

I’ve been paying particular attention to the buzzards recently. It’s amazing to see how they vary in colour! I remember when I used to see more buzzards than red kites round Buckinghamshire, but it has reversed now! Which makes seeing them a nice change!

Day two in the big pheasant garden and Fez (imaginative I know) is making himself feel at home! 😂 He’s very clever, he waits for these strong winds to blow seeds from the bird feeder to the floor, then he tucks in!

Well, what a lovely surprise. As I was having my breakfast this morning, this rather glorious male pheasant wandered into the garden for his! A first for my garden wildlife and hopefully not the last!

The misleadingly named grey wagtail, which is much more yellow than grey! Such a lovely little bird and one I always enjoy seeing when out on my walks!

A bird that divides opinion in the UK. The ring-necked parakeet. Not native to the UK, but found in abundance in South East England and London’s parks. They are birds with a lot of character. And certainly create a lot of noise!

Walking the Thames Path from Hampton Court Palace to Richmond today. Lovely and sunny day for it as well. Here’s an Egyptian goose spotted along the path who kindly posed for a photo.

A grey and murky day! Not ideal for any photos! If only the sun had been shining when I encountered this greater spotted woodpecker! It was ‘drumming’ away on an exposed branch above me, seemingly not at all fussed by my presence!

Deer is the order of the day today! Muntjac deer to be precise. Several seen while out and about, this one photographed was massive compared to the others I spotted!

A nice walk from Hurley to Henley and back again along the Thames today. Numerous Canada, Greylag and Egyptian geese. A particularly feisty mute swan. A bounty of fieldfare and of course as always round these parts, a plethora of red kites!

A treecreeper well camouflaged as it creeps up the tree and eventually out of sight! I wouldn’t have even noticed it was there if it wasn’t for the sound it’s feet made on the bark as it moved!

What a fantastic year 2019 has been. My wildlife highlights have been moving to Wales for 7 months where I had the opportunity to intern for and then work as a wildlife guide spotting the bottlenose dolphins. Then going to Skomer Island and seeing the puffins!

An epic tussle ensued between worm and thrush.. however there could only be one winner! I have to say, the worm really did dig itself in well though!
