    Wow. Look at 's ERC, or Eyewall Replacement Cycle. We can see it on "under the hood" microwave satellite imagery. The outer eyewall shrivels, contracting inwards and disintegrating while a new, beefier eyewall forms around it and becomes dominant.

    Hurricane is now a major hurricane (cat 3). The latest track has it intensifying to a category 4 hurricane by tomorrow. Although Sam is a small storm, it has a well defined eye and will bring life threatening surf and rip currents to the Lesser Antilles by early next week.
