Yesterday I went for a hike in Watchung Reservation in NJ and I was disappointed by how many green bags of #dog poo were scattered along the trail. Even if you don’t appreciate glacial erratics, please stop leaving your crap in #nature!pic.twitter.com/NWW7onXgma

Why bag it if you’re going to leave it? I’ve been known to hide a bag of poo along a trail until I come back and pick it up (not a fan of carrying it for hours if there’s a lot of trail ahead of me), but I’ve never left one.

Yeah, totally. I've been with friend who does this too, and I totally understand. You might not want to carry it in your pocket for an hour if you're making a loop. But these were certainly not those! One was even hanging 10 ft up a tree!

Fecal material is biodegradable, it baffles me that they go to the effort to pick it up and bag it, just to leave the plastic bag behind. It would cost them nothing just to leave the poop there and let it become dirt. It boggles the mind.

Fecal matter is a vector for disease. Parvovirus, worms and other illness are spread through contact. It should always be disposed of properly.

ahh the folks in new joisey, people don't clean up after themselves in their house. My Brother worked in Ramapo Forrest and everyone left their bags back in the 90s on Duh ground.
