These leftie ideas would never work, everybody would immediately dump Circles for even a tiny amount of Bitcoin, the market wouldn't value "free money" as much, it wouldn't be a global Schelling Point of 'neo-gold', merchants wouldn't take Circles but they would take BTC.

Real world examples to back up your claim include Auroracoin in Iceland and the BTC giveaway at MIT where most students exchanged it for USD or lost it.

The point is, even if you gave every person in the world a free smartphone with 5 NewCoins on it, the NewCoins wouldn’t have any value. Because Bitcoin, Zcash and Stablecoins will *already* exist, be deeply valued and used, and that other people already desire.
