10 years from now, what will the Bitcoin dominance index be at?
-
-
In 10 years Bitcoin will be completely private, fungible and anonymus, so we can add that 3T to Bitcoin.
-
I remember Core engineers saying something along the lines of “Bitcoin will slowly get more private, but it is unlikely it will have a Zcash/Monero levels of privacy, as the latter are even more laser-focused on continuous privacy improvements.” Deconstruct that as you will.
-
I would like
@jimmysong input on this, but what I read so far make me think will get there, possibly with even stronger features than zcahs/monero. I also think (just my hunch) that Greg Maxwell left Blockstream to be able to focus on exactly this purpose. -
For better or worse, Bitcoin doesn’t have the luxury of moving as fast or aggressively as ZEC or XMR when it comes to privacy (or any) innovations.
-
I fully agree with that, that's why the 10 year timeline, but it will eventually get there
-
Feds won’t sit idly if bitcoin tries to reach for XMR levels of privacy. It’s be an unforced error to prioritize it and it could hurt adoption.
-
Can you stop software, again and again, and again? It's just 1s and 0s.
-
Of course not. But you can stop the major fiat onramps. Don't you think privacy is a feature best implemented once Bitcoin achieves SoV status?
