Agreed. The quantity of bitcoin itself is irrelevant. So as long as the supply is infinitely divisible, 21m doesn't matter. What truly matters is the choice of a fixed supply.

The number is arbitrary but the fact that it is a fixed cap absolutely matters.

Also, the distribution rate is fairly irrelevant. The biggest plus against a fiat system is that it's unchanging and transparent to all.
