Looking back 3 years, Bitcoin price is now cheaper per unit of hash rate than ever before. In the next 2 years, I project BTC will have an average price of ~$22.5K and its next bull run will take it to ~$69.5K. A conservative exit price during this bull run would be around $46K.pic.twitter.com/Bz4b10gzub

Interesting analysis but don’t you think bitcoin, as a monetary good, is getting priced cognitively, subjectively and reflexively by investors, rather than having anything to do with mining fundamentals per se?

As a new species of monetary good, I agree that the market pricing of bitcoin is thus far highly subjective, yet I would also argue that sentinment has been largely negative/fearful so far and pricing will gradually converge on monetary utility, network and security fundamentals

it will always be subjective :) I agree with the commenters below that being elected as SoV by investors is what’s causing the hashrate to increase, not the other way around

As with most things in life, subjectivity and objectivity are not binary but instead exist on a continuum, with math itself as the most precise language we have for describing reality. Bitcoin’s valuation will be driven by social utility and become more objective over time

Agreed. However, hash rate improves security, which then in turn moves Bitcoin ahead in the competition of store of values.

this is true, its a feedback loop. my argument was that election as SoV in the first place is always the original kicktarter though, not the mining itself, mining follows:)

However I do agree that the base level evolution of bitcoin as a monetary good is store of value, simply based on its absolute scarcity and related growth in its stock to flow ratio (which will reach infinity), your pinned chart depicts this well :)

I'm skeptical about using hashrate as a proxy for any price predictions. It's the other way round as we know the economics of mining is based off BTC price/reward and energy expenses. So the prediction would be 'the Hash/BTC ratio is low so I expect to see an increase in hashes'

More hash rate = more expected growth in #bitcoin adoption, which leads to higher prices, which makes mining ever more profitable, which drives further investment into mining and creates ever more hash rate. In biology, this is called a positive feedback loop:pic.twitter.com/WW5NQfZHzL

Yeah it's that first bit I question. I don't think people factor in hash rate into their pricing. They factor in 'security vs manipulation' but Bitcoin had that already in network governance + very high hash rate already.

Yes, the energy price (aka hash per unit) coupled with a mathematically inviolable supply curve make Bitcoin the hardest monetary good in history, and history shows that the hardest monetary species prevails #bitcoin #alpha
