In our case of BTC vs. Programmed Inflationary Digital Fiat, 'Scalability' & 'Ease-of-Use' are exactly equal, so we have to then look at "which property is the market more willing to part with" in order to determine our winner.
To be fair the banking system is only one part of the equation. Also overall wealth, past history, racial dynamics, natural resources, education levels, diseases etc. surely play a role. But yeah. Monetary system has more profound effects on society and culture than most think.
