I have a resume too. Stop with the appeal to yourself as an authority, I don’t care. I answered your question, despite your impatience. But I’ll spell it out for you. Capitalization of future returns means it’s purchase of interest (investment).

Cool! So just so I understand your view, there is no such thing as a speculative stock purchase?

One can both invest and speculate. It is not clear to me why you think I have implied this is not the case. I have said that holding money is not an investment, which it is not. You want to divert the question to whether one can both speculate and invest, which is not disputed.

So to be clear, do you still consider hoarding money an investment?

Yes, I consider holding anything you expect to rise in value to be an investment: BTC, USD, stocks, oil, garden seeds, bullets, Beanie Babies, etc. Whether any turns out to be a *good* investment depends only on future performance vs your expectations.

Would you take USD and put it in a safe or under the mattress for 5 years?

No, because there is clear evidence it is losing its purchasing power year after year due to its supply expansion. We speculate that BTC will increasingly become a common vessel for parking wealth because supply expansion is not possible. Bet that Schelling Point will shift.
