Not sure it was that many but yes Pakistan did take a massive number of Afghan refugees during Russian invasion.

My understanding is that Pak hosted 5 million indiv Afghan refuges between 1979 & 2000, then WOT came along in 2001 so safe to say it's more

Good to know. My wife worked w/admitting Afghan refugees when she lived in Peshawar. I supposed I should've just asked her first.
