It's hilarious when guys lament "not being able to compliment a woman at work". "Great job on that report, Sara" or "Congratulations on the promotion, Leeann" are compliments. "Stacy, you need to wear this short dress everyday because your legs are banging" is not.pic.twitter.com/WFUQdocsiV

I have an online friend who said something about
#MeToo
not being "civil" or something. Like it was so horrible. I think he genuinely doesn't understand what it is about and he watches Fox too much to realize the true purpose of it. -
Well, if he watches fox he's never going to understand the true purpose of anything!
-
True. He couldn't handle that people were presenting facts from other news sources so he dropped out of the conversation. Sad thing is, he's a very nice guy who volunteers for Red Cross & helps people out whenever he can, but he has blinders on when it comes to Trump.

Whilst I do support MeToo I think that a minority of people have used it as a way of jumping on the bandwagon. Also we should be careful not to stereotype all men as sexual predators because abuse is not tied to one gender. I've been physically assaulted by women in the past.
-
#MeToo
is for men who’ve been assaulted, too. Assault is assault, no matter who it happens to. -
I do know that. The thing is whenever a man has experienced sexual or physical assault at the hands of a woman, he is less likely to speak out for fear of being laughed at or being told to "man up" and that's really not helpful in terms of achieving equality.
-
And that’s not ok. That’s something that the movement is working on. The point is to bring awareness and help to ALL victims, not just female victims.
-
I also believe that men and women need to come together on issues like this listen to each other's concerns more. Most of the time I see both sides bashing each other with words like Mansplaining and Feminazis and that needs to stop.

YES. I've never understood what the difficulty is in grasping this concept.

My brother made a point to talk to all the women in his life to understand
#metoo
better and he was shocked that ALL of us had some sort of story to tell. I wish more men would make that effort. Now, if I could just cure him of that urge to mansplain life would be perfect! -
Wonderful that he took it that seriously!! As for the mansplaining, I have brothers, too. I think it's actually brother-splaining and I WISH they understood it can be dangerous, esp in the morning before caffeine.
-
I think he does it just to watch my head explode.
