My first publication as a chapter with on 'Effects of Loading and Nutrition on Fascia' will be out late August. There's a cool section about combining load and nutrition to facilitate return to play after tendon/ ligament injury!

AFL game injuries have increased weekly since the restart – 14 muscle injuries in the last 18 games, including 11 hamstrings. 81.8% of these occurred in players who’ve had prior hamstring injuries, aligning with evidence that those with previous injuries are at a higher risk.

Really interesting thread here on policing, for those who are interested in understanding the impacts of some of the community discussions going on in America

And lastly, we haven't talked about Maya Moore nearly enough in the same breath as Kap. We should use this moment of joy to examine the marginalization of Black women athletes (and Black women generally) as these narratives of struggle take shape

It's a joyous moment, but if we don't consider how many Jonathan Irons's are behind bars without an all-time basketball great to fight for their release, it's humbling and downright enraging.

My latest piece about , Jonathan Irons, and both the beauty of what they accomplished and the ugliness of what it says about our system that it needed to be accomplished at all.

Really great to see a former lab assistant and collegiate athlete in her current role as ICU doctor dealing with COVID-19. I bet she wanted to make as an athlete, but this is more impressive to me

Hey , love your state by state COVID map, but could you update the "cases per capita" map? It is now almost useless since pretty much every state is >250 per 100K. Thanks.

Most common issues I see in scientific writing: - Doesn’t explain why the problem is important. - No clear takeaway message. (How would the reader explain it to a colleague?) - Sentences too long/complex. - Doesn’t offer intuition for results. - Over-stated conclusions.

Really good thread here showing expert women are constantly challenged by non-expert men. It happens in all fields, but sports medicine seems rife with these incidents.
