Oh you catch the same pokemon back to back to back (etc) and you get catch bonuses in game for it.

So you only go for the same type ignoring other Pokémon?

Yup. In Go and Let’s Go it gives you extra candy and increases chances of rares spawning. There are lures, like in Go (and other Pokemon games). But if you hear about people chaining it’s to try to get shinies. Or candies. Or bragging rights. Heh.

Ahh. This is new to me. I don't have a switch so let's go isn't an option. May have to try it in go if I can. Not always easy to find certain Pokémon around here

Yeah. It’s easier with the common ones, but the community event makes/made it easier.
