There's a horrific twist (for Rabio). It's almost as if the fisherman who caught him never really had any faith in Rabio's powers of prophecy.

The film covers the episode in Japan. Berg was not a star player like the others but was apparently invited on the tour because he had visited Japan before, and was believed to have some Japanese.

As said, one side -story of the 1934 tour was the presence of catcher Moe Berg, who later joined the OSS. "The Catcher was a Spy" is a new film about Berg, in which he's played by Paul Rudd.
