The US ultimatum whether or not to provide future assistance does not affect the Taliban in any way, shape, or form. The Taliban couldn’t care less as they have support from Pakistan, funding from terror organizations like AlQaeda, and above all, the opium trade like 1996 - 2000!
Afghanistan is deeply dependent on foreign aid...sone diplomats see that as leverage to get Taliban to soften some of their positions. Taliban don’t care about economic development or building infrastructure. They believe the land provides enough crops to sustain life. All they care about is to be able to enforce the most vicious form of sharia law on people, including public executions, chopping off hands, etc.

@Ahmdyarr. Afghan can do without foreign aid if only there is no corruption and other things that are rampant in Kabul regime.
