I thought about this last night it deserves a thread. For someone that has spent their life training and sacrificing like Mr Mues this isn't heroic or courageous. It's literally the bare minimum expected. The context of Romney's actions are that it was easier for him than some.

He is "The Mormon politician" (yes I know he's not the only one just the spokesman) so his seat in Utah is safe even if the voters love Trump. He also has unlimited resources so his future was never really threatened. He was allowed to make the choice without consequences.

This made Romney's choice easier than it was for some. Still in the history of this country he is the first senator to ever vote to impeach a President from his own party. Fox News was started to make sure no GOP Senators ever voted to impeach a GOP President again.

In this context, what Romney did was courageous and heroic. It was a historic action taken after measures were taken to make sure that he didn't make the choice he did. He dug deep and did the exact opposite of what the entire world expected from him. That isn't easy.
