    3/6 Electricity - $8.5billion has been set aside to improve ZESA'S output and to import additional electricity. Power is expected to increase as more independent producers come online. We will be giving incentives for those who want to go off grid and put in place solar systems

    Today, I had a very good meeting with Karo Resources, and its partners. They are investing in ferrochrome and platinum sectors. They are key to building a UD$12 billion mining sector industry over the next few years. We discussed policy, the economy and investment incentives.

    Davos WEF 2020: Meeting with the IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva in Davos, Switzerland. We discussed the Zimbabwe economy and reforms, and SMP; the need for more social protection of the vulnerable due to drought; and arrears debt clearance roadmap. Good meeting.

    Davos WEF2020: US President Trump addressing delegates at WEF today. I was asked about his impeachment hearings, and I said it is none of our business, and is a US internal issue. Our business is on impact of climate change causing drought, floods, cyclones, and power shortages.

    Davos WEF 2020: Participated in a session on reforming tax systems, focusing on corporate tax and digitalization, with Ministers of Finance for Saudi Arabia, and ANGOLA, & Prof Joe Stiglitz. I spoke about the 2% tax and compliance, and corporate tax reduction in 2020 Budget.
