I blended my own interests, both as a student and within educational research, with the potential needs of my school where the research was to be carried out. I did an analysis of the provision we offered the More Able in Year 9 in English and Maths - a priority at the time.

I built on mine, but shifted the focus slightly. In undergrad I looked at 35 private library inventories in early modern Navarre, while for the MA I studied the bookstock of one bookseller in Navarre in 1684. I did reference my undergrad thesis in the MA thesis bc it was relevant

I will add though that out of the five others in my program whose topics I know about, I think only one might have built on previous undergrad work. All the others did something completely new
