    People are so preoccupied with working out how to rank the correct stuff or correctly rank stuff that they forget that ranking is not actually a necessary function of the university.

    I dislike the term "transformative agreement" for the same reason I dislike "version of record". It's honorific when it should be descriptive (like "offset" or "read-and-publish" agreement). It's also ambiguous, since there are many other agreements that cd transform publishing.

    MAG has demonstrated the value of (largely) openly available metadata - many other organizations could and did build on and (re)use these data. Pulling the available data together remains challenging. Do we value this enough to support community-governed open infrastructure?
