Someone's been posing as a school principal online for years, and and I spent most of this week trying to unravel why whoever it is falsely claimed this week that a local assistant principal had died in a car crash:

AB's MLA base pay is $120,936, the highest in Canada by almost $5K and almost $22K higher than the average, and that's after pay cuts. It seems like AB's MLAs need to do some more leading by example before they start targeting public sector workers. Y'know, to avoid hypocrisy!

I wrote 6 pages on the Curriculum Advisory Panel’s report. If you make it through all 6 pages I should buy you a ☕️. Maybe I should buy you one *before* you start reading?

Unfortunately, our Education Minister is only able to rely on UCP talking points. She can't handle criticism, and she refuses to actually listen to educators in this province.

One of my former students asked me to check out a music video he is in. (He has been doing some modelling outside of his regular job since graduating.) My students and I checked it out before school ended today. It was a cool song & it was great seeing Ray in the video!

We've got some students who are worried about the Coronavirus. We looked at the statistics as they stand right now so they had accurate info. Coronavirus currently has a 2.1% death rate. 6155 total confirmed cases internationally (with 132 deaths (all in China).

How independent was Janice MacKinnon, the Chair of the Blue Ribbon Panel? Internal government documents lead AFL to question Janice MacKinnon’s independence from UCP government.

It's exam week for us teaching high school. Throughout the day I'll have kids coming to see me so they can tell me how their latest exam went, what's new in their life since I last saw them, and (for some) to seek help working through test anxiety.

Finished recording all the audio for the English 10-1/10-2/10-4 final exams tonight. (This is something that actually can take hours to do.) I find it helps my students as even some of my strong readers like to use audio. (They've told me it helps them to focus.)

Alberta teachers in the public system keep doing more & more with less & less. It can be hard to keep struggling, but we do it for our students. It's important for us to look out for each other, remain aware of what's going on, & keep giving our best to our "kids."

Alberta has one of the best public education systems in the world. , & the are intent on damaging it which negatively affects students teachers & ultimately ALL Albertans. Albertans deserve better leadership.

University education should not be about jobs. It should be about expanding the mind, critical thinking and learning how to learn. To think otherwise about our university system is missing the point and purpose.
