Between that, and people refusing to learn more roles to help queue times, it becomes a chore to play. Blizzard is at fault too. They let these attitudes fester for too long and now that there are tools to help (role queue, priority pass), no one wants to use them.

Of space as a tank and protect, but someone wants to play the one-trick and get countered/outplayed and not adapt. That’s what’s holding a lot of that community back IMO
BIG agree. I'm all for playing your favorite hero. But if you're constantly getting outplayed/countered, you should try something else. When my Sombra starts getting checked by CC or a Torb turret making hacks impossible, I swap. I'd rather win get countered for an entire match.
