I hadn't heard of the maximilian thing, but ones like PDP are like... The accident was saying it on stream. The kind of accident that lets you know guy has to be dropping it regularly.

yeah, but pewds isn't american, so i don't think he really understood(understands?) how hurtful that word is to people. he probably first heard it on xbox live. i can't blame him for being ignorant of that.

This is just me but I’m not gonna excuse racism (or a racist word) due to ignorance. But again that might just be me being a cold hearted bitch.

if he literally doesn't know that it's racist (or the degree to which it is racist) how can it be racism? it's a continuation of the max incident. max didn't know what he was saying. pewd didn't know how hurtful what he was saying was. fchamp knew he was pushing boundaries.

In regards to Max:How the fuck did he not? In regards to PDP:Whether he knew the word was hurtful or not HE STILL SAID IT. I’m happy for him if afterwards he educates himself but for me as a black person that word hurts on a different scale whether it was said in ignorance or not

max said it as part of a tongue twister. his chat called him out for it and he apologized profusely, he didn't realize he said it. i know that the word hurts, but if someone doesn't understand that, they may say it not realizing how hurtful it is. that's my point

And I’m saying that’s fine if they were ignorant on the history behind the word. But for ME as a person I can’t just let it slide when someone says the word. Point blank period. Idk how better to explain it.

This seems fine to me, you shouldn't just let it slide, they need to fix their behavior. I think it's fair to say that if they do fix their behavior, that should be taken into account too, right?

i am not suggesting that we pretend like nothing happened, i'm saying that we can't exile people for making one mistake, which is fast becoming the new standard

This is where the history thing comes in. Mike Z was the one mistake and he isn't exiled. I think the argument is that FC has a history of being problematic, and also wasn't apologetic and followed up with more problematic behavior so it's entirely different from 'one mistake'

Hold up here though. You are telling me making a joke is a mistake? That isn’t a mistake that’s being stupid.

It can be both right? This is kind of semantics though. It's one 'incident'.

I think it was a dumb thing to say, I think it was a 'mistake' because I don't think the guy has a history, and I don't think he had any intent to be harmful, and it was kinda 'on the spot livestream' stuff (not like a tweet which is kinda premeditated if you will).
