If I just tell Hudson how disappointed I am at him doing something he gets emotional. I couldn’t imagine beating a dog to the point they cower when you try to pet them.

It also depends on the dog too most pet dogs only really need a firm correction nothing over the top. Working dogs on the other hand sometimes need pain to understand or you will have a problem with them.

Like to save a mal who was wound up too tight from his previous owner I had to isolate him from all human and dog interaction till he got better it took 2 months of isolation and no attention besides food and being let out for exercise.
