Isn’t that called Civics? We are in desperate need of it. The trick comes in being balanced and explaining all sides. Doubt the ultra left teachers unions would allow that though.

Depends....if it's a government civics class & politics is part of the lecture...yes.... even if the students are half asleep. If it's in shop class & the teacher is talking while you're using the band saw....then maybe you should shut the saw off before he gets your attention.

A discussion of history or civics would be empty without reference to politics. But teachers should NOT be preaching their own beliefs, and such preaching can be subtle, such as English reading assignments that are all Leftist. Academic freedom ends where proselyting begins.
