They don't get the right to possess a fire arm back even when they have served their time. You can do a lot more damage with a vote than a gun

Agreed. I'm all for restoring one's rights after their debt to society is paid & they are released from prison, but not while still incarcerated. This has limits though. I don't want murderers & rapists to ever be able to participate in the political process or own guns again.

Also note that I said "murderers." I don't think that someone who kills in self-defense or defending the lives of others as murder.
