Love this blog post by ⁦⁩ on Imposter Syndrome. Last week, 80% of our Twitter poll said they felt like an imposter at work - this post covers why, and what we can do in schools to harness it

I found 1917 to be a beautiful film. The heroism and futility of war intertwined. It was Wilfred Owen, Charge of the Light Brigade and Band of Brothers rolled into one. And shot beautifully.

I have been told a number of times that you cannot run a successful school using my approach. Teachers will take advantage. Teachers will do nothing. They need to be heavily monitored and scrutinized. They need to be watched That. Is. Bull$%^

I’m not at all up to speed with phonics debate, but having just been to read to by my 7 year old (standard Biff and Chip) and then reading sounds with my 4 year old, it’s such a rewarding process! They use Jolly Phonics at school and we’ve enjoyed it so far

No more marking Lose the Learning Walks Scrap Performance Management No Observations No scrutiny, book looks, monitoring. All of this *could* be said about Three Bridges. But its whats underneath all of those things that really matters.

This report strikes me as an opportunity to take an honest look at our systems and reflect very honestly on where we are missing opportunities to provide staff with autonomy, and which of our practices actively compromise wellbeing.

I’m glad my students don’t have the same lack of planning, ambition, or adaptability as in the transfer window 😢🤔

NEW blog: I was pleased to see the report on autonomy this week. We might have low control over some short-term aspects of our role (kids, hey!) but we should feel empowered to have choice over professional development, curriculum design, etc !
