Wasteful. Expensive. Ill planned. Often in the wrong place. Unaccountable locally. Free Schools are not the way forward. #headingleyhttps://twitter.com/angelarayner/status/852047395240251392 …

86% free schools in wave 5-12 are where there's a need for school places. Not all free schools perfect but not sure you can say wrong place?

Lots of evidence suggests since inception there are location issues. So what's wrong with Councils opening schools?

RSCs and Headteaher Boards elected by teachers. Governing Bodies often with Cllrs still on them accountable to parents. Ofsted.

Why not automatically have Cllr's on? Why not part of a cohesive system? Why not Councils allowed? Dogma is unpleasant.

Is that Lab party policy? A mixed system isn't a bad thing, like choice isn't a bad thing.

The dogma of perennial opposition to innovation or change isn't good either. Alter, modify or improve, but dogma exists in opposition too
