I applaud the NFL’s new policy that will fine players for showing disrespect to the American flag and our national anthem. Those fines should be substantial and should be donated to disabled veterans charities. #MaSen

You don't have the right to protest at work, which is what this boils down to. I would complain no matter what they're protesting. It's not appropriate on work time, which is what game day is for them. It's their 9-5. We can't protest at work and they shouldn't be able to either
That’s a good point, but their contracts don’t forbid it to my knowledge. It’s a harmless political statement, let them have their protest.

When it affects your company's bottom line it ceases to be harmless though. Why don't we hear of these guys working in their communities if they are so concerned about these issues?

What if the cable guy decided to protest at work? He comes to your home to fix your broken service wearing a graphic shirt protesting abortion. While your 5 year-old waits to watch the Wiggles, or whatever show tots like these days. Not the same proportion, sure, but valid.
