Firstly, I have become convinced over the last 18 months of the serious possibility of an ecologically motivated (there are many other factors but the big one is the Environment) collapse of civilization as we know it. We need robust action here before we're far too late.
I’d have to do a deeper dive into the numbers to know for certain (it may be the case that Alaska cannot meets its heating needs with just solar) but on the face of it this looks to be a necessary move in forcing us off our crippling fossil fuel dependence. Build small dwellings!

If I'm understanding this correctly, Alaska has way more wind potential than would be needed to cover 100% of ISO New England's load (which probably implies Alaska's wind can heat a state much less populated than Massachusetts): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power_in_Alaska …

Closer to home, can we get federal leases for off shore wind farms due east of Cohasset/Scituate and other parts of Massachusetts? Having some wind turbines south of Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard is great, but current leases shouldn't be only New England off shore wind.
