It's our bias as native English speakers that we do not see the need to assign gender to a noun. That said, I've never been given a viable explanation for why castle and tree are male and house flower are female. Seems kinda sexist TBH lol
Is it just me, or is grammatical gender (for nouns, and the necessary adjective agreement) a ridiculous and unnecessary linguistic feature?
