1. You get injured, and go to the hospital for an emergency. 2. The insurance company charges you a $2,500 premium for the surgery. 3. The surgery costs $60,000. 4. Insurance only covers emergencies up to $40,000. 5. You are now out $22,500. 6. You now declare bankruptcy.

Wow. Actually that is really expensive. Probably you were staying a month in the hospital. In some cases xou could deduct that too.
