When people make jokes and then get criticized for it, we're not arguing about whether the joke was a joke, we're arguing about why the joke was funny. Sometimes we laugh for shitty reasons.
Much of the time, our laughter is involuntary. We needn't (and shouldn't) bring argument and conflict into the realm of comedy. The best way to criticize a comic is just to not laugh. I've tanked on stage a few times and it hurts a lot more than a heckler or a butthurt tweeter.

Aren't you kinda misrepresenting your own argument? If laughter is involuntary we can't not laugh at that joke. And "not bringing arguments and conflicts into comedy".. that's what a lot of successful comedy is about.

And I don't believe (but that's my opinion) the tweet was about criticizing A comic but about criticizing what comedy is about. Hence the argument of "disagree why sth is funny not if".
