A thing I wish I knew about Thoreau as a teenager was that his mother brought him sandwiches and Walden Pond was on her property. I think I might have made some different life choices had I understood that.

@OkazuYuri . Also add that Jack Kerouac's girlfriend kept him clothed and fed. None of these guys existed without women propping them up.
Jack Kerouac was spending half the year living with his mother or his aunt during most of his 20s. But he didn’t try and hide this, and Jack bought his mother a house in Florida and supported her after On The Road came out.
