Now that the Lincoln Highway video is done, I'm pivoting to my channel's tenth anniversary projects! I've already done a huge amount of work on both videos, so it won't be nearly as long a wait as last time. I'm so grateful to have been able to do these projects.

Huge thanks to everyone who's made this video possible through your patience and patronage. This is by far the largest, most complex project I've ever done and I hope it was worth the wait.

Getting the footage in 4k in the first place was a massive process (1.27 terabytes of total GoPro capture for both projects), but it looks so crisp and I have heard that YouTube favors 4k footage and will maintain the crispness. Being able to really see the detail is so critical.

It will, unfortunately, probably be nearly a 24 hour or more upload time, too. The file is around ~280 GB. I'm so proud of the result and so anxious for it to be done, so it sucks that the renders keep failing, but I'm trying my best and was on track for time this morning.

I just want to say how much I appreciate everyone's patience and that I have been working as hard as I can, the only reason it's taken this long is that I decided to go book length. I'm trying not to stress about the gap in output because I'm really doing something special here.

To my mind, this is the best thing I've ever done. I've never been so happy with my writing or more excited for the result. I know it's been a barren year for output but I've just never done anything even remotely this large or complex. Not even the Resident Evil video.

It will likely be the longest video Ive done for my channel, which might not be what everyone wants, but in choosing whether to summarize or maximize my coverage of the road, I leaned into detail. Ive essentially waited my whole life to do a project like this and I want it right.

I'm nearly done with the script for the Lincoln Highway project and am going to begin voice recording and video editing this week. It should be done by the end of the month. I'm sorry it's taken so long, but I ended up creating something that's full-size nonfiction length.

I'll post a larger thing about it on Patreon later, but I just want to say that I'm incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this trip. It's been unlike anything I've done in my life. I think what I'm able to make out of it will be pretty unique.

I made it home! On Wednesday, I was walking on Ocean Beach in Maryland, six days later, I'm on the other side of the continent after averaging 500-700 miles a day on the freeway. I actually pulled it off! I'm back safe, the car is weary but fine, I have TONS of footage.

Caught sunset tonight at an abandoned hanglider launch spot along the Maryland/Pennsylvania border. Tonight I'm in Front Royal, Virginia so I can catch the Skyline Caverns when they open-- what I'm 99% sure is the equivalent of Little Lamplight from Fallout 3.

It's very strange to me the way people are afraid of subways and cities. I'm staying in Silver Spring and people I tell are like "that's a bad neighborhood", like, NO, it is the ultimate area for amazing Thai and Caribbean food, cheap hotels, and amazing dive bars, u are baby

That means the Pitt DLC section will suffer some, but I'm going to try and make the most of the rest of my time in the Capital Wasteland. I should be able to put together a really good segment on Point Lookout and the main campaign at least.

I made it to Washington D.C.! My one regret is that I missed my opportunities to visit the Carrie Blast Furnace in Pittsburgh. Because it's the off season the tours are limited and I haven't been within 300 miles of the city when they've had them.

For Halloween evening I hiked up to the burnt out ruins of the Overlook Hotel! Not *that* one, the one in the Catskill mountains. I did the hike towards sunset and walked down in the gloom. One of the best ruins I've been to all trip.

Had an incredible day of hiking yesterday in Arcadia National Park. Got most everything crossed off the Far Harbor list except Cadillac Mountain summit and Otter Point. So I'm going to head out and do those today before returning to Western Massachusetts! Big hike, big drive.

I have to go over 500 miles south just to reposition for the next part of the trip after this. This is, to me, an absolutely exotic part of the country. Never been anywhere even near it or seen anything like it. This is the true halfway point-- every mile from here goes west.

I made it to Bar Harbor! I don't have any pictures today because it was a very long one on the road and I'm heading out to a laundromat for my evening plans, but I wanted to mark the occasion because this is my furthest point from home. Unbelievable how far I've driven.

And here is the remains of the Rutledge Prison Camp. I did more stuff too but I often forget to take phone pictures because I'm using the GoPro so much. I leave for Bar Harbor tomorrow-- Far Harbor is pretty accurate, it's like a 300 mile run.

I had an amazing time doing a big footage gathering loop of the areas around Boston! It was the only day of sunshine I got so far in Massachsetts but it made more some extremely scenic stuff. Did mostly ruins today! This is Fort Revere in Hull.

The game world is much more playful with history and local geography/landscape than I realized-- as interactive with the vibe of the actual place as New Vegas is. It's just a little more subtle about it because New/Las Vegas is so crazy and loud in comparison.

Something cool I didn't really understand about Fallout 4's map until today is that Sanctuary Hills is literally the field across Concord's North Bridge, where the first casualties of the Revolutionary War occurred. In gathering footage around Boston, I'm learning a lot.

I managed to escape from New York! I'm in Boston now for the next five days working on the Fallout 4 portion of the Real Life Landscapes project. Very excited to do a lot of walking and public transit for a while!

WE DID IT! Terminus to Terminus on the Lincoln Highway! This has been the most complicated, difficult, amazing adventure I've had in my entire life. I'm in shock we pulled it off. Almost 5,000 miles in 21 days in a 45 year old Thunderbird. We really fucking did it.

Finished up West Virginia yesterday with a sweep across the mountains in the eastern part of the state! Weather turned wintery really fast and I wasn't able to do Spruce Knob because of the snow. I still managed to do about 75% of my Fallout 76 checklist overall.

I did the most terrifying thing of my life today for footage and took the New River Gorge Bridge tour. A mile and a half along a single, thin steel catwalk 800+ feet in the air. I got the shots and I didn't have a panic attack, but I am legit afraid of heights, so this was a LOT.

Back on the road and at the Charleston Capitol Building! Turns out my new fuel pump was defective, which I couldn't have fixed on the side of the road anyway. Got fast, cheap, quality repairs from a man named Possum. Suffice to say I'm really enjoying West Virginia.

Had a minor issue with the Thunderbird where it had to be towed (clogged fuel hardline), so I'm accidently staying the night in a historic hotel in Point Pleasant! Personally I blame Mothman. Damn the flapping of his wings.
