Judy-Lynn del Rey was a leading sci-fi and fantasy publisher.
She was born on January 26, 1943. She had Achondroplasia - the most common form of #dwarfism - like I do.
She went to Hunter College and graduated in 1965.

“If you stop the book for ten pages to do a sex scene… if that's what the readers wanted they would be reading pornography, not science fiction.” – Judy-Lynn. She was known for her “irreverent humour”. Reading her interview with Tangent, I loved her take-no-shit attitude. 8/pic.twitter.com/CTHkvZ6xrw

She clearly didn’t suffer fools gladly. Another dynamite quote: “If there's no one out there to read what [the writer] writes or who cares what he writes, he's writing for himself. And that is, in a sense, literary masturbation. Who cares?” 9/pic.twitter.com/osUTvGq12R

Isaac Asimov - one the world's most celebrated and prolific
#sciencefiction authors - writes of Judy-Lynn: she "has to be seen to be believed - incredibly intelligent, quick-witted, hard-driving woman who [seems] to be burning constantly with a bright radioactive glow". 10/Näytä tämä ketju -
She and Lester regularly had books on the best-seller lists. Philip K Dick described Judy-Lynn as “probably the greatest editor since Maxwell Perkins”. She died from a brain haemorrhage in February 1986 (a few months before I was born), aged 43. Far too young. END
