She’s 100% correct. It’s one thing to be struggling in a poor country. But to be struggling in a rich country? No. Something is out of whack.

Pay for your own healthcare and education then. You can’t force other people to pay for the healthcare and education of others.
Pay for your own military protection. Pay for your own roads. Pay for your own basic education. Pay for your own retirement. Pay for your own border security. Pay for your own space exploration. Pay for your own business subsidies. Should I go on?
Military is a enumerated power of the federal government. I did pay for my own education. I’m saving for my own retirement and would get rid of social security at the federal level if I could.

So did the people of Norway, Finland, Canada, France, Ireland.... and they’re just fine. The key to socialism is to avoid the combo of dictatorship/authoritarianism + socialism. It’s actually pretty simple.

The difference between the Nordic social democracy and Central American socialism is that the United States isn’t sabotaging the Nordic countries economically, sanctioning them, ruining them with predatory loans, selling and giving weapons to Contra Fascist rebels, etc.
Socialism sucks because the State decides how to spend the money your time, creativity, talent and energy creates.

If you use your time, creativity, talent and energy you too can become a billionaire. That's what's great about capitalism. I like this woman and some of her ideas but socialism won't fly in Congress.

We aren't socialists and never will be. Everyone has opportunities 2 do great things in this country, They can choose to take advantage of them or not. I started working at 14 and retired very early, sorry but the only handouts I give are to my family.
We already have some socialized education and healthcare are you ok with that? Some of us just want more of it and in new areas.
