For some context and background, I am a freshman in college looking to dual major in Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences (relating to game design and videogames) as well as Computer Science. One class I am taking this semester is "History and Culture of Games."

Part of this class requires us to look at older videogames, play them, and then analyze them. This is where Activision and you, Mr. Crane, come in. For my assignment I worked on a few days ago, I stumbled upon Pitfall! for the Atari 2600 and decided to play and analyze it.

I played the game for a good chunk of the day (probably around 3-4 hours) and was actually able to obtain a high score of 34,237 before running out of lives. My partner I was working with on the assignment was able to surpass this and get 37,383 points.pic.twitter.com/KRaxPPOYvU

After playing the game, we then have to do research and analysis on the game, and what I found that was interesting was that you gave away patches to those who sent pictures of scoring over 20,000 points, and I thought that was a neat incentive to the game.

While I am sure you no longer have any (but if you do please let me know), I just figured I would share this story of how a 38 year old video game is still providing entertainment and still finding new players. I can't wait to try and beat my high score again and continue playing

So, thanks again for making such a great game. I would really appreciate it if I could get a reply or acknowledgement to this- it would be neat to share with my class and lecturer or maybe even learn some information from the creator of the game himself to use in my presentation.
