Is baptism the call or the response? Based on every single example in Scripture, the Gospel is the call, and baptism is the first response.

Isn’t baptism also a call to the baptized to give themselves to some visible and orderly church of Jesus Christ, that they may walk in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless?

So, instead of using ancient Israel (according to the flesh) as our model (hence paedobaptism), our model is investiture for office, the robes of Noah, Joseph, Israelites, etc. Nobody is born a Communist. Nobody is born a Christian.

Yes, they were. As I said, the circumcision of flesh of males was a social demarcation related to the promise of seed (in both land and womb). But the law was about circumcision of heart. Even Israel as a nation was only baptised when considered mature enough for ministry.
