To chip in, I'd be glad to share my data set with OP who made this criticism. I'm not a hack (neither is Andy); I have tenure at a state university. As I recall - could be off by a few - I found 161 hate hoaxes during 2017.

#last_post - you also seem to be assuming that all hate crime allegations not confirmed as hoaxes actually happened. Not really. The conviction rate in HC cases is about 5%, because so many are hoaxes or anonymous. Literally DM or e-mail me for more detail. -
You'd think somebody actually concerned with protecting people would do their best to expose hoaxes, not cover them up. The fact that what she wants is high numbers says a lot about her real motivation.

Anyone with access to a search engine and about 10 minutes of free time can find more than 23 news articles about hate hoaxes for 2017. That is, of course, assuming google isn't feeding different people different search results in an effort to quarantine certain information.

Google, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and likely many more have been gaslighting not only their customers, but the entire world, since 2016 or prior, even when caught red handed. They don't just think we are all stupid, they built an entire system based on that assumption.
