In 2018, Zaldy Ampatuan, one of the principal suspects in the 2009 Maguindanao MASSACRE was given a 3 hour furlough to attend daughter's wedding at a 5-star hotel in Pasay City.
For a VIP detainee, BJMP would always have the manpower and the resources?

By MovePH @MovePH
...Compassion is not only for the VIPs, the Very Important Prisoners with big names like Enrile, Imelda, Gloria, Bong, Jinggoy and Ampatuan.

Bong Revilla during his furlough vs. Ina Nacino's furlough to see the body of her dead child.
The stark difference gives us a clear picture of how the justice system works in our country. Nakakasuka!

Humanitarian considerations only apply to Enrile, Revilla, Arroyo and Ampatuan? The law is harsh to the oppressed. Dura lex sed lex, my ass.

Zaldy Ampatuan? Gloria Arroyo? Do their names ring a bell? They were granted furlough, despite the horrible things that they did.
Reina Nasino? She was given three hours, only three freaking hours, by the Supreme Court to be in her baby's wake.

Furloughs have been granted for a wedding, a bday party, a visit in the hospital,
and here is Reina Mae Nasino, a human rights activist, in handcuffs, grieving while surrounded by police as if she was a high profile, hardened criminal. She couldn’t even wipe her tears properly.

Don’t you dare tell me dura lex, sed lex when the Supreme Court granted Gloria Arroyo a 12-day Christmas and New Year furlough in 2015. In the Philippines, the law is only harsh to the poor and the disenfranchised.
