Thanks Leila. Academia -- which cares about many things but not writing or reading anymore (it's unlikely the "top dogs" there have even read much of their own writing!) -- certainly wasn't too concerned about readable prose.

Very true, especially nowadays the stuff they produce could be written in an alien language
