an ancient practice honed for generations can still, in fact, be a belief
that's a fascinating attempted contrast on their part, hence my "revision" . astrology, as a "practice" in their estimation, is i suppose akin to acupuncture or leeching or some such thing

well i think it's a decent comparison. in that acupuncture has proven health effects, but ancient knowledge lacks a firm explanation on WHY. and poking anyone thinking you can heal anything under the vague description of "acupuncture" is not the same thing as what is proven.

like we know astrology has physical implications on the earth, there is some science around the tides and migration patterns of animals. but it doesn't have anything to do with your fate in life or how you feel on a certain day. so it's a convenient excuse of pseudoscience.
