Yeah it was a good one, nigh-samizdat after it dropped but has gained steam in the post-grantland of essays about everything

I feel like no one who is as good as writer as he was has really been willing to “do the work,” a sort of George Plimpton on steroids, and no one who has done the work has been as good a writer as he was. Present company aside, of course.
I remember special ordering it from the college bookstore back when I was in grad school. Great book!
