Shouldn't corporations that require daily work from home (many of whom save money on commercial office rent) pay employees "rent" for the office space in their homes? (I'm well aware of the home-office deduction, and trust you're aware that's not the same thing.)

Home office deduction was eliminated for W-2 employees under the last tax reform bill to pay for lowered rates. It's only available to independent contractors now.
