the presumption if you struggle academically has shifted from "you lack comprehension" to "the course is unfairly difficult / discriminatory". not that that's never true, but interesting to see this become more common as college courses have become *easier* & *more* accommodating

That said, I do now think DeBoer was right that PMCs want this gone because then they can fill roles (that require no processing power, mentally) with people who have locked themselves into various important classifications

But otherwise, yes, it’s a trap. I appreciate talent, especially innate talent, but merit is a scam. I’ll appreciate talent much less when the rich start gene-customizing their offspring
