One of the saddest media-related things I can imagine is being one of those people who always fires off or agrees with the Approved Takes, and yet still lacks a following or even a part-time job in the "biz." They're doing the work, but for nothing. It's fascinating

Most normal people just use social media this way, if they see a report piece they like for whatever reason they'll share it for their friends... It's if you're doing to make a political point that it's harder to understand I guess. Most Normies aren't "operatives" in any way.

Ahhh missed the thread... Yeah I guess if you're doing that.... Mind you, what are you on Twitter for at all if you're not at least partly interested in social capital/clout?
