people like my dad and otis dozovic would be classified as "morbidly obese" in terms of BMI, but I don't think either would be considered "politically fat"

most of the people in my family, especially my dad's side of the family, were "morbidly obese," but none of them could be counted as "politically fat"

fat was something they expected -- normalized if you will, almost as a status quo -- but they did level vicious fat-related insults at each other. "look, fat!" as joe biden would say. loads of us were saddled with monikers like "lardo," "tubs," "chubs"..."who's the blimp?"
