      AI tools will eliminate most of the tedious work in most jobs (design, data science, programming, professional emailing, etc.) Prediction: it will be very surprising how much more productive people are when they have never have to break rhythm and slow down for a tedious task.

      I've been involved in hiring work -- explicitly so for the past two years, before that on academic committees -- and I can tell you: 1) some jobs a specific proficiency (pilot, electrician, pro illustrator, etc.) 2) for the rest you can hire anyone (manager, most lib arts profs)

          It's funny because if you really did hire truly good professors and managers who did *something*, life itself wouldn't be as horrible. Even one or two of these people, in anonymous roles stripped of institutional power, can make life more bearable. But the real bosses don't care
