i know a few "opinion journos" who have takes "in the can" for various scenarios. some pre-written, some just bullet points. akin to having obituaries "in the can" for people at death's doorstep.
there were clearly loads of canned takes making the rounds during the warren vs. sanders "the takes that dare not speak the name" era , depending on the mood of any given day
