I'm not on that clip though I believe their larger point is about the business of selling that message versus specific examples. All sorts of groupings, from the anti tax movement in CA to the temperance movement in the 10s, have some results to show for their work
Again, the episode predates me and my own treatment of any topic usually involves charitable readings and specific examples set against my own interpretations. However, in any time or space limited project there is only so much opportunity to cite bona fides, work I've done, etc.

Sorry by you I meant just the Pod. Their point at least from the clip is that the only achievements these activists can show is more discourse, more conferences, more public attention, nothing concrete. Just lazy at best and dishonest at worst.

And a serious misunderstanding about how local organizing and local politics works. Very much a view from a safe distance. No skin in the game. Very much not doing the work.
